Death Valley
Death Valley has 9 campgrounds:
Furnace Creek, Mesquite Springs,
Emigrant & Wild Rose which are
open year round. Texas Spring,
Sunset and Stovepipe Wells are
open october to April. Thorndike
and Mahogany Flat are open April
through October.
Mojave Desert
Mojave has 2 campgrounds, Hole-in-the-wall and Mid Hills. They are both
open year round and are on a first come, first served basis. The road to Mid
Hills is unpaved and not recommended for campers or trailers. Back country
camping is permitted. Ask at the Visitor's center for more information.
Mojave offers an astounding variation of scenery, plant and animal life. There
are sand dunes, Joshua tree woodlands, cactus- Yucca scrub, Creosote Bush
Scrub, Washes and Juniper Woodland. It has been part of the California
Desert Proctection Act Since 1994.
Joshua Tree
There are 9 campgrounds in Joshua Tree:
near the Cottonwood Visitor's Center, White
Tank, Belle, Jumbo Rocks, Ryan, Hidden
Valley, Sheep Pass, Indian Cove & Black
Rock Canyon.
Joshua Tree also offers many hiking
possibilities including: Oasis of Mara, Forty
Nine Palms Oasis, Hidden Valley, Barker Dam,
Lost Horse Mine and many more.

At it's lowest point, Death Valley is 282 feet below sea level. It also boasts
the warmest temperatures in the continental U.S.
There are numerous points of interest within the park: Zabriskie Point,
Twenty Mule Team Canyon, Ubehebe Crater, and Scotty's Castle - to name
a few.
Best time to visit is undoubtably April & May. Daytime temperatures range
from 90 to 100 degrees, night time temps are 60 to 70 degrees.
