Fall - September/October
Sponsored Links
The fall is perhaps the best time of year to visit the Southwest.  The day and night time
temperatures  are generally mild.  There isn't much rainfall.  School has started again, and
the campgrounds aren't quite so crowded.  All of which makes the fall a perfect time visit
to Death Valley, Monument Valley or Grand Canyon, to name a few.
The waters of Lake Mead and Lake Powell have warmed the entire summer, and water
temperatures are very pleasant.

Reservations for campings are rarely needed at this time of year.

In fact, most campgrounds will be very quiet during the week.  The weekends may be
somewhat busier.
